The Monday Post #5

Monday is by far the gloomiest day of the week for me, followed by Sunday simply because it precedes Monday. Hopefully, The Monday Post will give you some beauty inspiration and help you get through the week! ❤

Favorite beauty read/viewing: I've basically been spending all of my free time this past week scouring A Model Recommends' channel and watching (and re-watching) all of her videos. Obsessive, much? I love her taste in beauty products, and her channel has a great balance of makeup and skincare.

Beauty goal: Stopping buying stuff. 'Nuff said.

Product Rediscovery: Call it boredom, but I've been reaching for a different blush nearly everyday recently. MAC Hang Loose Mineralize Blush, however, was deserving of a few consecutive days in the rotation. I like to swirl the baby pink and shimmery lavender together to create a girly, doll-like flush.

Beauty lust: With all the purchases I've made recently from Sephora and beauty.com, I'm actually surprised there's anything left on my wishlist. Tarte Amazonian Cream Eyeshadow in Shimmering Bronze stole my heart yesterday when I swatched it in Sephora, but alas, I chose to walk away from temptation. Doesn't mean it won't be mine one day though...

Most looking forward to: Christmas shopping! I love thinking of what my friends and family might like and buying gifts for them. I'll be heading home to California in less than a month, and I'm determined to wrap up all of my Christmas shopping before then in order to save on sales tax. If that means going shopping every single weekend until then, so be it ;)

Hope you all have a great week!

The Monday Post #4

Monday is by far the gloomiest day of the week for me, followed by Sunday simply because it precedes Monday. Hopefully, The Monday Post will give you some beauty inspiration and help you get through the week! ❤

Favorite beauty read/viewing: The best "Get Ready With Me" video ever created. Just watch it - trust me on this one.

Beauty goal: Put down the waterproof mascara. Those who have been following my blog for a while may know that my HG mascara is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Volumizing Mascara because it volumizes and holds a curl like no other; however, I feel as though my lashes are looking somewhat sparse and feeling a bit brittle at the moment, so I'm going to try to go easy on my lashes for a while and use a more gentle, non-waterproof mascara for a few weeks.

Product Rediscovery: I've been pretty loyal to my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in recent months, but I randomly used my Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer on some blemishes the other day, and my goodness - it's amazing stuff. Great coverage and incredibly long-wearing.

Beauty lust: I've seen a few mentions of Sally Hansen Gold Roses polish lately, and it looks absolutely beautiful. Sadly, it was sold out at my local Target when I checked yesterday, so my hunt continues.

Most looking forward to: The end of October when I get to come home to California for a few days! Woohoo!

Hope you all have a great week!

The Monday Post #3

Monday is by far the gloomiest day of the week for me, followed by Sunday simply because it precedes Monday. Hopefully, The Monday Post will give you some beauty inspiration and help you get through the week! ❤

Favorite beauty read/viewing: Liz from Beauty Reductionista introduces the idea of a "Later List," and I'm on board. For anyone who has ever struggled with balancing the constant want vs. need for more, her post is a must-read.

Beauty goal: My goal this week is to stop touching my face throughout the day. Seems simple enough, but I have a feeling I may fail miserably. As I sit typing this, I caught myself touching my chin, and surprise, surprise, I tend to have the most breakouts on my chin. Wish me luck!

Product Rediscovery: Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya - I always see it out of the corner of my eye sitting on my dresser when I'm doing my makeup in the morning, and I just recently started using it again and was reminded of how fantastic it is. I find it really moisturizing, and the peachy shade goes with just about everything.

Beauty lust: I have a feeling I'm nearing the end of my much loved Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, and I'm just itching to try something new for my morning cleanse. Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is currently at the top of my list.

Most looking forward to: Sunshine! Last week was straight up miserable with all the rain (not to mention traffic caused by the rain), so I'm excited for a bit more sun this week, starting Tuesday (more showers on Monday apparently, ugh). To say I miss California weather would be a vast understatement!

Hope you all have a great week!

The Monday Post #2

Monday is by far the gloomiest day of the week for me, followed by Sunday simply because it precedes Monday. Hopefully, The Monday Post will give you some beauty inspiration and help you get through the week! ❤

Favorite beauty read/viewing: Beauty Professor gives an introduction to MAKE Cosmetics via glowing reviews of the Silk Cream Lip Color and Soft Focus Foundation. Is it wrong to add an entire brand to your wishlist? Because I just did.

Beauty goal: I'm normally too lazy and/or too sleepy to reach for liquid or gel liner in the mornings; however, every time I do a winged liner on my days off, I'm reminded of how much confidence it gives me. I guess I just really like how it looks on me. So, my goal this week will be to make the time and put in the effort to do winged liner for at least 3 days, simply because it makes me feel good...and that's more than enough reason to justify a beauty goal :)

Product Rediscovery: MAC Era eyeshadow is definitely a product that doesn't seem to get the credit it deserves. I find that the touch of shimmer spices it up just enough and keeps it from being just another boring neutral. I love wearing it alone on the lid or through the crease.

Beauty lust: When I posted about my NARS blush collection, I also listed three shades currently on my wishlist. After receiving quite a few comments on the post as well as on Twitter, the point was well taken and Dolce Vita has swiftly been pushed to the very top of my beauty wishlist.

Most looking forward to: Getting over being sick. My throat started hurting Thursday afternoon, and it's just been going downhill from there. I'm starting my next rotation today, and I can't wait to feel 100% again!

Hope you all have a great week!

The Monday Post #1

Monday is by far the gloomiest day of the week for me, followed by Sunday simply because it precedes Monday. Hopefully, The Monday Post will give you some beauty inspiration and help you get through the week! ❤

Favorite beauty read/viewing: Dovey from Cute and Mundane reviewed several of the new Make Up For Ever Artisan brushes that will be available starting this month, and the luxe, dark wooden handles are seriously making me drool. The Precision Crease Brush (#214) is calling my name...

Beauty goal: I'm really going to try to force myself to take my makeup off right when I get home from work. I usually wait until right before I go to bed to remove it, and at that point, I'm so exhausted that I find myself lying around, unable to go to sleep because I still have my makeup on, but yet too lazy to go take it off. Lose-lose situation.

Product Rediscovery: I uncovered the Bare Minerals Ready Luminizer in the Love Affair at the bottom of my daily makeup bin yesterday, and after dusting some on to the tops of my cheeks, I was reminded of how utterly amazing highlighter can be. This rose gold one deserves more love from me.

Beauty lust: Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour in Burnished Copper. Watch Sandra's video and you'll understand why.

Most looking forward to: Thursday! My boyfriend is coming to visit and we're going to the coast this weekend!

Hope you all have a great week!
